Adele von Ohl Parker (1885-1966).

Adele von Ohl Parker (1885-1966).
This portrait of Mrs. Parker at age 50 was taken by prominent Cleveland portrait photographer Ethel Standiford in 1936. It is part of a collection of portrait photographs of prominent Cleveland men--and some women--taken by Standiford between 1930-1936. According to an article that appeared in the Plain Dealer on November 22, 1936, following a light lunch that the two women had together, Standiford expressed to Parker that she wished she had some cold cream to apply to Parker's face before taking her photo. Parker responded by taking a pat of butter from the table and smearinig it on her face. Standiford then took the photo. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Photograph Collection
